We had a great time Saturday at The Greenville Humane Society's fourth annual Mutt Strut, presented by Papa John's, at the Greenville Tech campus. The Mutt Strut is South Carolina's largest dog-friendly race. The 2-mile run/walk course is an easy outing for participants and their dogs.
This year there were over 1500 participants in the event. The"Largest Mutt Strut Crew" went to the GE team with 68 member! That was 35 more team members than the second team. The GE team also won the Team Fundraiser, raising over $1600! Laura Smith and Bella won for Top Individual Fundraiser with a total of $1155! All proceeds from the Mutt Strut benefit the Greenville Humane Society and the homeless pets in their care.
Oh course, there were also awards to the top race finishers. Congratulations to Matthew Tinsley, Tony Williams and Jonathan Sunde for the top three finishers, respectively. You can view all the race results HERE.
The race began and ended at the Mutt Market, which featured free food, live music and doggie entertainment. I am sorry to say I didn't get a picture of the Camp Bow Wow crew even though I was set up right next time them, but every time I tried they were surrounded. It showed that they are the most loved Doggie Day Care in town. :)
Check out the youngest "runner", at only two weeks old! Okay, maybe more of a cheerleader.
The weather couldn't have been better and the pups seemed to be enjoying themselves.
But pups weren't the only four-legged ones in the race. Pickle the Pig got in on the action, too.
I loved seeing some old faces and meeting some new ones, too.
I had a great time meeting many of you in the photo booth; any excuse to play dress-up and act silly.
